Exploring the Use of Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) to Support Oral Skills Development in EFL Learners: A Literature Review

Abstract

This literature review explores how Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) has been used to support the development of oral skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners between 2021 and 2025. The study followed a structured process to identify and analyze empirical peer-reviewed studies on the use of mobile technologies in English language learning. The search included academic databases such as Scopus, Springer Nature, JSTOR, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, fifty studies were selected for analysis.
