The development model of the western world, marked by land consumption and useless expansive dynamics, has produced several episodes characterised by territorial fragility, marginality, depopulation, and abandonment. These territories (displaying “weaknesses” linked to the lack of facilities and accessibility), analysed through the application of traditional socio-economical evaluation parameters, have been included, at a national level, in the National Strategy of Internal Areas (Strategia Nazionale delle Aree Interne). However, if we are capable of amending ourselves from the logic of development and growth, we can see that these territories have not been interested by peaks of development and, therefore, are not subject to the fees of growth. These areas are almost completely intact, thus, the resources that surround them (air, water, forests, landscape, beauty) become the centre of new economies (sustainable, green, blue).spa
