Propuesta de una estrategia que propenda por el desarrollo de la cultura ambiental a los futuros egresados de la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana Seccional Bucaramanga

Abstract

Con esta investigación se pudo observar uno de los principales problemas que se presentan en la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. La falta de cultura y educación ambiental de los estudiantes de la institución. Se diseñó una estrategia para la preparación y toma de conciencia del estudiante, en el manejo de los problemas ambientales. La metodología utilizada se sustentó principalmente en la aplicación de un diagnostico generado por un cuestionario de opinión a 871 estudiantes de la Universidad, que midió el nivel de cultura y educación ambiental con que se cuenta en la institución. Según los resultados obtenidos en esta investigación, es importante la aplicación de un proceso de aprendizaje sobre cultura y educación ambiental a los estudiantes universitarios mediante una asignatura, ya que la comunicación sería el método más eficiente para dar a conocer este tipo de temáticas. Se recomienda urgentemente la generación de estrategias para la solución de los problemas ambientales en la institución, se deben aplicar campañas educativas ambientales a toda la comunidad universitaria. La Universidad desde su Facultad de Ingeniería Ambiental, debe formar un grupo de investigación y apoyo en el que puedan participar todos los estudiantes interesados.

With the research made we could observe one of the main problems presented in the University Pontificia Bolivariana. Lack of environmental culture and education of the students in the institution. We designed a strategy for the preparation and consciousness of the student in the management of environmental problems. The methodology used was mainly sustained by the application of a diagnose generated by an opinion survey to 871 students of the university measuring their environmental culture and education. There was a compilation done of the total number of registered students for the first semester of 2009 and the numbers yielded a total of 4041 students. According to the results in the investigation we could highlight the importance in the application of a learning process about environmental culture and education to the students by an assignment. Communication would be the most efficient method in order to present these types of themes. It is urgently recommended the generating of strategies to solve environmental problems presented in the institution and in the same way applying environmental campaigns to all the campus community. The university, from its Environmental Engineering faculty must form a research and support group from where every student interested can get involved.
