Estudio para la identificación de las áreas estratégicas de formación académica de la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana Seccional Bucaramanga

Abstract

El presente estudio tiene como objetivo general, identificar las áreas estratégicas de formación académica de la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, seccional Bucaramanga para el periodo de 2009 - 2014. Muestra mediante el análisis de las tendencias económicas, educativas, ciencia y tecnología y socio-culturales, la manera favorable como la universidad podría enfrentarse a este entorno dinámico de manera que le sea posible ir a la vanguardia con estos cambios. Por otra parte, el estudio ha medido mediante el método de pronósticos el número de estudiantes matriculados, llevando este número a fechas futuras hasta el 2013, yendo estas cifras en aumento. Se ha realizado un benchmarking entre las universidades más prestigiosas locales y nacionales, el cual permitió evaluar el nivel de acreditación, los programas, los convenios que poseen dichos centros de educación superior; obtenido un paralelo de comparación para con la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana frente a estas, donde se permite concluir que a pesar de ser la institución más reciente cuenta con un buen número de carreras de las cuales ya algunas han sido acreditadas y permite incentivar a tomar medidas en cuanto a agregar carreras de nivel técnico y tecnológico acorde a las áreas estratégicas identificadas. Gracias a la investigación realizada se arrojan las posibles carreras de las diferentes áreas en las que la universidad debería incursionar y para finalizar se realizan las pertinentes recomendaciones a la UPB seccional Bucaramanga, para estar acorde con la dinámica del ambiente y de esta manera pueda fortalecerse la educación superior.

The present study has as general aim; identify the strategic areas of academic formation of the Pontificia Bolivariana University, sectional Bucaramanga for the period of 2009 - 2014. This analysis of the economic, educational trends, science and technology and associate cultural, shows the best way like the university might face this dynamic environment so that it is possible to go to the forefront with these changes. On the other hand, the study has measured by means of the method of predictions the number of registered students, projecting this number to future dates until 2013, which they go in increase. A benchmarking has been realized between the most prestigious local and national universities, which allowed to evaluate the level of accreditation, the programs, the agreements that possess the above mentioned centers of top education; obtained the parallel one of comparison for with the Pontificia Bolivariana University opposite to these, where it is allowed to conclude that in spite of being the most recent institution it count with a good number of programs which some of them have been credited and it allows to stimulate taking measurements as for adding programs of technical and technological identical level to the strategic identified areas. With this investigation they propose the possible programs in the strategic areas that the university should penetrate and finally the pertinent recommendations they might realized to the sectional UPB Bucaramanga, to be according to the dynamics of the environment and hereby one could strengthen the top education.
