Morfología y estructura caicediana

Abstract

En el presente trabajo expondremos, bajo las teorías de Vladimir Propp y su Morfología del Cuento, al igual que otro tanto de Formalistas y Estructuralistas, un acercamiento a la obra del escritor caleño Andrés Caicedo, con la pretensión de formular una aproximación a dos cuentos suyos. Con el apoyo de Claude Bremond y de la dedicatoria escrita por Carlos Patiño a la obra caicediana, intervendremos en “Besacalles” y “En las garras del crimen”, ambos cuentos de la antología Calicalabozo, para buscar las funciones que del teórico ruso vemos aparecen en ambos cuentos; igualmente, tras desarrollar las cuatro funciones, ver cómo todas se ven supeditadas a la verosimilitud de la historia, al igual que de las cuestiones del engaño y del desclasamiento, fenómenos que proponemos como principal papel cohesionador en la literatura de Caicedo. In this article we will analyze the work of the writer Andrés Caicedo with the aim of formulating an approach to two of his stories through the theories of Vladimir Propp as presented in his Morphology and Story, as well as through other Formalist and Structuralist theories. With the support of Claude Bremond and the foreword written by Carlos Patiño to Caicedo´s work, “Besacalles” and “In the grip of crime,” two short stories of the Calicalabozo Tales, will be explored in order to find which of the Russian theorist´s functions appear in both. Once the four functions are developed, the stories will be examined to see how these functions are related to the truthfulness of the stories as well as to the issues of deception and downgrading, phenomena which we suggest are the main cohesive factors in Caicedo´s literature.
