Vestirse para dar la bienvenida al nuevo siglo: Bogotá (1910-1930)

Abstract

El objetivo de este texto es mostrar algunos avances del proyecto de investigación: “Representaciones de modernidad a través del vestuario: Bogotá 1910- 1930”. Por ello se parte de la reconstrucción de lo que pasó en Bogotá durante este periodo de tiempo, se realiza un recorrido por aquellas transformaciones en la indumentaria que caracterizaron las primeras décadas del siglo xx, para terminar con un breve análisis de algunas fotografías de ese entonces, como base para ilustrar la metodología que guía dicho estudio. The aim of this paper is to show preliminary results from the research project entitled “Representations of modernity through clothing: Bogotá 1910-1930”. The project starts with the reconstruction of several events transpired in the City of Bogotá during this period of time. There is a journey through those transformations in clothing that characterized the first decades of the Twentieth Century, ending with a brief analysis of some photographs of the time in order to illustrate the methodology of the study.
