Abstract
La voz bachillerato se deriva del francés baccalaurent, que a su vez procede del latín baccalaureum, el cual significa: "baya de Laurel". Y esto porque en la antigüedad acostumbraban ceñir con hojas de laurel a los héroes, poetas y estudiantes sobresalientes. De modo que bachiller, etimológicamente, vale tanto como coronado con hojas de laurel".
