La pascua semanal: aproximación al domingo desde los padres de la iglesia

Abstract

La recuperación de la celebración dominical dentro de la fe cristiana es una noción esencial y no solo accesoria. Desde tiempos muy remotos el domingo determinó el ritmo de la vida del creyente, no era la celebración de un acontecimiento pasado ajeno totalmente a la vida y extraño, sino que era confesión de su fe, día del encuentro entre los hermanos, día de la esperanza última y configuración total con el Señor. Para presentar y recuperar esta experiencia a los cristianos actuales se hace necesario mirar otra vez a la experiencia más cercana al acontecimiento Jesús, y presentar desde esta experiencia original aquello que debe ser verdaderamente la celebración dominical. Por eso los Padres de la Iglesia deben ser escuchados nuevamente y se deben recibir sus aportes para el quehacer pastoral de la Iglesia contemporánea.

The revitalization of the Sunday celebration in the Christian faith is an essential, not merely, an accessory notion. Since ancient times, Sundays regulated the pace of life of the believer. It was not only the celebration of an alien and past event, but also the affirmation of faith, the day for meeting between brothers, the day of utmost hope and full alignment with the Lord. To present and retrieve this experience for today’s Christians it is necessary to look again at the event which is closest to the Jesus experience, and present, from this point of view, the true Sunday celebration as it should be. The Church Fathers must be heard again and their input for the pastoral work of the contemporary Church must be accepted.
