La esperanza cristiana como repuesta a los cambios de la nueva cultura en el contexto de la misión continental

Abstract

La esperanza cristiana se fundamenta en la fe y alimenta al pueblo de Dios en su caminar hacia el futuro y lo mueve a progresar por los caminos de la dignidad y la justicia para llegar a las promesas del Dios que ha de venir. En la resurrección de Cristo la esperanza no ve la eternidad del cielo, sino precisamente el futuro de la tierra. Es el mundo contemporáneo, el que está instando a la iglesia a una lectura antropológica, es decir a una mayor atención a la vida de la gente, en sus dificultades y alegrías, sufrimientos y esperanzas, desánimos y fe. Por eso, el salto de la esperanza que dan los pobres ha sido un acto repetido indefinidamente en la historia del cristianismo.

Christian hope is based on faith and feeds the people of God in their walk towards the future, moves it to progress on the road of dignity and justice in order to reach the promises of God who is to come. In the resurrection of Christ, hope does not see the eternity of heaven, but precisely the future of the earth. It is the contemporary world, which is urging the church, and particularly the Bible, an anthropological reading, a greater attention to people’s lives, to their difficulties and joys, sufferings and hopes, disappointments and faith. Therefore, the leap of hope given to the poor has been an indefinitely repeated act in the history of Christianity.
