Dar sentido a las posibilidades: síntesis y prototipo en diseño

Abstract

Este artículo resalta la importancia que tiene la modelación y aplicación de prototipos en la realización de la síntesis en diseño; así, se presenta inicialmente la relación de este proceso con los modelos de diseño descriptivo y prescriptivo; de manera posterior, se indica cómo las intenciones establecidas por el constructor del prototipo se equilibran con las de las audiencias que actúan con el artefacto, cuando la síntesis se realiza con transparencia desde su inicio. Después, se presentan los diferentes matices que adopta el prototipo en cada una de las dimensiones del contexto, las personas y la tecnología, lo que alimenta un proceso integral de diseño. El texto de este trabajo se basa en el artículo El prototipo como herramienta de síntesis en diseño publicado en las memorias del XV congreso de la Sociedad Iberoamericana de Gráfica Digital, Santa Fe, Argentina, 2011.

This article highlights the importance of modeling and the implementation of prototypes in the preparation of the synthesis in design. Thus, initially the relationship of this process with descriptive and prescriptive design models is presented. Later on, indications are given on how the intentions laid down by the manufacturer of the prototype are balanced with those of the audiences who act with the device, when the synthesis is carried out with transparency from its inception. Then, are introduced the different nuances adopted by the prototype in each of the dimensions of the context, the people and the technology, which feeds a comprehensive design process.
