dc.description.abstract | El estudio describe el perfil cognitivo y las competencias académicas de escolares de quinto grado con bajo desempeño académico de dos Instituciones Educativas. Se seleccionaron 18 participantes de sexo masculino y femenino con edades entre 11 y 12 años, mediante muestreo intencionado con criterios de inclusión, según el docente, con discapacidad intelectual. Se aplicó la batería de Evaluación Neuropsicológica Infantil ENI, para caracterizar las competencias académicas y el perfil cognitivo. Se realiza análisis descriptivo cuantitativo del desempeño en: Lectura, escritura, coherencia narrativa y aritmética; memoria (codificación), lenguaje, memoria (evocación diferida), atención, habilidades conceptuales y funciones ejecutivas. Según los resultados el 67% de los sujetos presenta coeficiente intelectual normal, medido por la Escala de Inteligencia de Wechsler para niños. El desempeño académico evaluado por la sub-escalas lectura de voz alta y las habilidades de conteo en aritmética presentan mayor desempeño, no obstante son bajas. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | This study describes the cognitive profile and the academic competences of fifth graders with low academic performance from two educative institutions. 18 students were selected as participants. They were males and females between 11 and 12 yeras old.These participants were chosen by an intentional selection with inclusión criteria , and with intelectual disabilities , according to their teacher. The batthery of Neuropsichological for childhood evaluation(ENI) was applied to characterize the cognitive profile and the academic competences. A descriptive cuantitative analysis was done to analyze their performance in: Reading, writing, narrative coherence and math;Memory (codification),language, memory( differed evocation), attention, conceptual abilities and executive functions. According to the results, 67% of the participants have a normal intelectual coefficient, measured by Wechsler Intelligence scale for kids.The academic performance evaluated by sub-scales in reading aloud and the arithmetic counting abilities present a major performance.
