Handoff Vertical: Aproximaciones Cross- Layer (Noviembre 2009)

Este artículo presenta un estado del arte acerca del proceso de Handoff en redes heterogéneas, el cual se conoce como Handoff vertical. Se presentan las distintas técnicas aplicadas en el Handoff vertical y se hace una revisión sobre las últimas estrategias del proceso, conocidas como aproximaciones Cross-Layer. Esta revisión permite realizar un análisis sobre los distintos métodos aplicados al proceso del Handoff vertical, de acuerdo con los tiempos de implementación, el tipo de Handoff y los criterios base para tomar la decisión.

This paper presents the state of the art about the process of Handoff in heterogeneous networks, which is known as Vertical Handoff. We present the different techniques applied in the vertical Handoff and we review the latest strategies on the process, known as Cross-Layer approaches. This review will allow for an analysis of the different methods applied to the vertical Handoff process in accordance with implementation times, the type of Handoff and criteria forthe decision.
