The Network Demo is packaged as a separate zip file that can be downloaded from the AdventNet website and installed in the . Network simulator. The demo network can be installed on the Simulation Toolkit 6 version.
To download and install the demo network:
1. Download and install Simulation Toolkit 6, if not already installed.
2. Download the packaged zip file Sample_Network.zip
3. Start the NetworkDesigner.bat/sh from <Simulator_Home>/bin directory.
4. Select Tools -> Install menu item from the menu bar. This brings the Install Networks dialog.
5. Choose the option of whether you want to just install the network or install and load the network.
6. Browse to select the packaged zip file.
7. Click OK to complete the operation.
If you had chosen the Install Package option, it will only install the network. On the other hand if you had chosen Install and Load networks, the network(s) will be installed and loaded in the Network Design Tool.
The demo network configuration will be created in <SimulatorHome >/networks/NetworkDemo directory.

To start the network demo from UI
Start the Network Designer Tool as Admin User.
Select Load Existing Network option in the main window or Network -> Open option from the menu bar.
Choose the NetworkDemo.net file in the <SimulatorHome>/networks/NetworkDemo directory and click Open, to load the network.
Start the network by selecting Run -> Start Network option. The IP address of the devices will be automatically created in the system. The IP address of the devices will also be updated in the IP address Table.

Note: If you have started the tool as Admin user, the IP address will be automatically configured in your system. For manual configuration, refer to Configuring IP Addresses. |
